Venus / sukra - Kalathra karaka

Venus / sukra is the demon teacher sukracharya. In Indian astrology venus is the signifier of marriage and life partner. He is also responsible for motor vehicles. Venus also signifies cloth and fabric, property, ornaments, women, sexual pleasure, marriage and married life, sensual pleasure from five senses, bed pleasure, sole proprietor business, semen, flowers, cow, white color, film industry and other creative arts, tasty food, hotels etc.

In profession Venus is responsible for photography, make-up beauty parlor, speculation and lottery, sweepstakes money and other sudden income.

Venus is powerful in his own rashi (Taurus, Libra) and navamsa. Except 6,7,10 house he will give good results. He will give favorable results when placed at Aayilyam, ketai, revati, karthikai, swathi, thiruvathirai nakshatras. Mercury / budha - Intelligence

In Vedic Astrology the planet mercury rules rashis Gemini (mithun) and Virgo (kanya). Mercury signifies Intelligence, speech, education, argument, maternal uncle, astrology, journalism, books and publications, mathematics, orator, secretary, clerk, school teacher, diplomacy.

Mercury will give good results when it is placed at 5,3,6,1,9, or 12th house in a horoscope. In his own rashi, own navamsa mercury is strong. Mercury will benefic results if placed in Aayilyam, kettai, revati, rohini, hastha and thiruvona nakshatras. If it occupies Thiruvathirai, Swathi, pushyam, anusham, chithirai and maham nakshatra he is harmful.

Mercury will start giving transit results 7 days before entering a new sign. He is powerful in 10 and 7th houses. In a persons life the results of mercury will be experienced during 32-35th age.

Guru / Jupiter - The most beneficial

Jupiter is considered the most beneficial planet among the nine planets. It aspect is considered very auspicious. Jupiter is the Deva Guru (teacher of the demi gods). A horoscope with strong Jupiter indicates trouble free life. Jupiter signifies happiness, knowledge, children / progeny, teachers, bhramins, knowledge of vedas, enlightment, male progeny, elder brothers, respect, awards from government, justice, honesty, professors, lecturers, lawers, advocates, diplomacy, etc.

Jupiter give good results when he occupies 2,5,7,9,11 houses in birth horoscope. Give good results in kadaka, Viruchika and Meena rashi. He will not give good results if he is in vagra (retrograde motion), asthanga (combust) situations. Will give good results when occupies Uthiram, Uthiradam, punarpoosam, uthiratathi, vishakam nakshatras in birth horoscope. In hastham, Thiruvathirai, Sathayam, Swathi nakshatras he will give bad results. He will starting giving results two months prior to entering a new rashi. Jupiter stays for one year at each rashi. He will give good results in middle 2 months.

Mars - Guja dosha / sevvai dosha

Mars is considered the fiery planet in Indian astrology. Mars is of red colour. Due to its fierce nature it creates dosha in certain houses of horoscopes. Mars creates mangal dosha / Sevvai Dosah / Guja dosha when it occupies 2, 4, 7, 8 ,12 houses of the horoscope. Due to this dosha while matching horoscopes for marriage, those with mangal dosha should select  a bride/groom with mangal dosha. Thus the dosha will get nullified.

Mars signifies younger siblings ( brothers/sisters), bravery, physical strength, war, leadership, army chief, land, estate, non movable assets, accidents, wound, wounds caused by weapons, angry, police, military, medicine, dentist, Metallurgy, engineering etc.

Mars is benefic when he is posited at 3, 6 and 11 th house in birth horoscope. In Gochara mars will start giving results 8 days before entering a new sign. His results are experienced during 28-32 years in life.

Those with strong mars and favorable yogas become army generals, great surgeons, gain money in real estates.

Significations of the Moon (chandra)

The second important planet in vedic astrology is the moon or Chandra. The moon receives light from sun and reflects it. Due to moon we experience Amavasya (No Moon) and Poornima (Full Moon). Moon is the significator of Mind. If moon is afflicted in a person's horoscope he may encounter mental challenges. In worst cases he may become lunatic (Luna (Moon) - lunatic).

Moon signifies Mother, Sleep, prosperity, vehicles, women, benefits from women, scent, intelligence, beauty, longevity, left eye.

Moon is malefic if he occupies 5,9,12,4 and 8th houses in a horoscope. Moon is good in 1,3,6,7,10 and 11th houses. During Dakshanayana, night, and in 4th house moon gains power. Moon gives benefic results while he transits Rohini, Thiruvonam, Punarpoosam, Vishakam, pooratahi nakshatras. He will give bad results while transiting  karthikai, uthiram, aayilyam, kettai, uthiradam, revathi nakshatras. Moons results are experienced during 24-26 age in life. He will start giving results, 1 hour before entering a new rashi.

What are signified by sun?

In Indian Astrology the nine planets signifies different things. We will see what things are signified by the sun. Sun is the important planet in astrology. Those planets that are in close proximity with sun will be combust. In other words they will lose their power. Sun signifies father, Athma (soul), medicine, Science, Government, benefits from Government, Respect, bravery, health, life span, electricity, right eye, etc.,

In daily astrology if sun occupies benefic positions one will get good results in the above said fields. For example sun will give benefic results during tranist in 3rd house from janma rashi. So in the matters of siblings, bravery one will get good results.

Sun will give good results if it occupies 3,6,10 or 11th house in birth horoscopes. If there is any other planet in 6,12,4 or 5th house from these positions the benefic results will not be enjoyed by the native. This is jathaka vedha. Gochara Vedha is a different concept which i will explain soon. Since saturn is the son of sun, saturn won't create vedha to sun. Sun is strong during utharayana (during it northward journey), noon time, 10th house in the horoscope. The effect of sun will be felt during the age 22-24. Sun will start giving results 5 days before he enters a new rashi.
